BuildASoil Shipping: Our complimentary shipping method for qualifying orders. We choose the most cost-effective carrier and shipping method. Delivery may take up to 10 business days. Most items qualify when you purchase two or more eligible products. Some qualify individually.
Standard Shipping: A paid option where we ship using standard ground services.
Standard Shipping: Rushed Out the Door! Includes everything in Standard Shipping, but adds on same day order processing (not guaranteed).
Get It Fast: Our expedited service. Orders are shipped with 2-3 day transit times and are prioritized for fulfillment, with most leaving the same business day (not guaranteed).
Overnight It: Ships via overnight service with immediate fulfillment for urgent deliveries.

🚚 Carriers Used

We ship with FedEx, UPS, and USPS. Carrier preference is not guaranteed unless explicitly communicated to us.

📮 PO Boxes

Orders shipped to PO Boxes often require additional costs and are not eligible for free shipping. Use a physical address to avoid delays and fees.

🏝️ Outside Continental US

We ship to Alaska, Hawaii, Puerto Rico, Guam, Northern Mariana Islands and the U.S. Virgin Islands. Free shipping generally does not apply to large or bulky items shipped to these locations. Hawaii and Alaska do have more flexibility with this due to carrier policies. Quotes will be calculated at checkout or by request.

🇨🇦 Canada Orders

We do ship to Canada for select items. Canadian customers must choose “UPS Standard® Shipping to Canada with no Surprises!” at checkout to ensure proper customs clearance and avoid unexpected brokerage fees or delays. Orders using other methods may be subject to delays or rejection at customs.

🏭 Vendor-Fulfilled Items

Some products are fulfilled by vendor partners and display estimated ship dates on their product pages. Questions about these items should be sent to support@buildasoil.com.

🚛 Freight Shipments

Freight deliveries involve pallets via box trucks or semis. Liftgate service is assumed unless specified otherwise.

Important: Inspect all freight shipments before signing. Count and examine all packages. Signing the delivery receipt confirms that the order arrived in full and undamaged.

🚛 Full Truckloads

Orders that qualify for full truckload (FTL) delivery will be custom quoted after checkout. Rates are based on location, order volume, and unloading requirements.

Indicate if you have a dock, forklift, or unloading equipment.
If you need liftgate or manual unload service, please notify us.

🛡️ Shipping Protection

This low-cost optional add-on at checkout insures your shipment against loss, theft, and damage. Claims are fast-tracked for resolution or replacement.

Even with protection, we encourage submitting photos, videos, and documentation to assist our carrier claims process.

Once an order leaves our facility, we are not liable for delays, damage, or misdelivery caused by the carrier. We assist with claims but final decisions rest with the carrier.

We have zero tolerance for mistreatment of delivery drivers. Verified misconduct may result in cancellation and refund of your order minus shipping costs.

You get 1 kilo (2.2 lbs) of deseeded soap nut shells plus 4 small linen bags for soaking or laundry.

Soap nuts are the dried fruit of the soapberry tree, and the shells are loaded with natural saponins. Soak them in water and you get a gentle, plant-based soap you can use as a wetting agent, a foliar spray, an emulsifier for neem oil, or even laundry detergent. We've used these in house at BuildASoil for years. Nothing fancy, just a simple natural tool that works.

How to Make Soap Nut Liquid

Cold soak (easy way): Put about 10 shells in 6 cups of water, using one of the included linen bags to keep it tidy. Soak at least 8 hours or overnight. Pull the bag out and you're done. Milder than the boiled version, so you may need to apply a bit more or a bit more often.

Boiled concentrate (strong way): Simmer about 10 shells in 6 cups of water for 30 to 60 minutes, then cool and strain. For general use, dilute around 1 part liquid to 10 parts water and adjust from there. Spent shells go straight in the compost.

In the Garden

Spray foliage top and bottom, early morning or late afternoon to avoid leaf burn. Use weekly or as needed for pests and powdery mildew. Works great as the surfactant when emulsifying neem oil, and a splash in your water makes an effective wetting agent for hydrophobic soil.

In the Laundry

Drop 4 to 8 shells into one of the included linen bags and toss it in with your clothes. Each bag is good for about 4 wash cycles, then compost the shells.

Storage and Tips

Soap nut liquid has no preservatives, so keep it in the fridge and use it within a week. If it smells sour or shows mold, dump it and make a fresh batch. Being a natural product, foaminess and strength will vary a little from batch to batch.
