Shipping is expensive, and it gets more expensive almost every year. We are not going to pretend otherwise. What we can tell you is that we work hard to find the most reliable and affordable way to get your order to you, and we pass along free shipping wherever it makes sense.
Free shipping on any order with two or more items. The one exception is bulk items, meaning the large or heavy products that have to move by freight or oversized parcel. If your cart qualifies, free shipping is applied automatically at checkout.
Why two items and not a dollar amount?
Most stores set free shipping at a dollar threshold. That works when you sell light things like clothing. We don't. We ship soil, amendments, and heavy real goods that are expensive and awkward to move, so a dollar minimum doesn't reflect what shipping actually costs us.
We are a small business with no outside financial backing, and we are not Amazon. We manufacture, pack, and ship everything in house so we can control quality, which means real people picking, boxing, taping, and labeling every order, and that means real jobs. When we ship a single item for free, the only way to cover it is to raise prices across the board, and we would rather not do that. Asking for two or more items on free orders lets us keep prices lower for everyone and keep shipping sustainable. We hate high shipping costs as much as you do, and this is the fairest way we have found to keep them down.

Outside the Continental US
We ship to Alaska, Hawaii, Puerto Rico, Guam, the Northern Mariana Islands, and the US Virgin Islands. Free shipping generally does not apply to large or bulky items going to these destinations, though Hawaii and Alaska have more flexibility depending on carrier policy. Rates are quoted at checkout or on request.
Canada
We ship select items to Canada. Canadian customers need to choose "UPS Standard Shipping to Canada" at checkout so your order clears customs cleanly and you avoid surprise brokerage fees. Orders placed with other methods can be delayed or rejected at the border.

Freight Shipments
Freight orders arrive on pallets by box truck or semi. We assume you need liftgate service unless you tell us otherwise.
Inspect every freight shipment before you sign. Count the packages and check for damage. Signing the delivery receipt confirms the order arrived complete and undamaged, so note any problem on the receipt before you sign it.
Full Truckloads
Full truckload (FTL) orders are custom quoted after checkout based on your location, order volume, and how the truck will be unloaded.

What it is
What WDG3000 is
Bti is short for Bacillus thuringiensis subspecies israelensis. It works on larvae in the water when they eat it. It does not affect adult mosquitoes.
WDG stands for water dispersible granule. It is made by Becker Microbial Products, now part of Clarke, and sold commercially as AquaBac WDG 3000. The other 57% is the carrier that keeps the granules dispersing evenly in the tank.

How much to mix
Mix the powder into 1 gallon of water, then apply that gallon evenly over 1,000 square feet of water surface. Measure the surface area of the water, not its depth or volume.

- Use the low end when larvae are small. Use the high end when most larvae are large.
- Larger areas: mix 1 gallon for every 1,000 square feet. A 3,000 square foot pond takes 3 gallons.
- Smaller areas: mix a full gallon and apply only the share that matches the area. 100 square feet takes about 13 ounces of the mix.
Teaspoon amounts assume about 2 grams per level teaspoon. Granule density varies, so a gram scale is more accurate. Label rates are 1.75 to 7 oz per acre for most mosquito habitats, 7 to 14 oz per acre for polluted water and 3.5 lb per acre for aquatic midges, mixed in 5 to 100 gallons of water per acre. This mixing guide uses about 44 gallons per acre.

How to apply

Gear up and measure. Wear safety glasses, waterproof gloves, long sleeves and pants, socks and shoes, and an N95 mask while mixing and applying. Measure the powder for 1 gallon of water per 1,000 square feet of water surface.

Mix into water with agitation. Fill your sprayer or mix container with water first, start stirring or agitating, then slowly pour the granules in. Keep agitating so they stay dispersed.

Apply evenly and recheck. Spray or pour the mix evenly over the water surface. Check the water again over the following days and reapply when larvae return.
FAQ
Common questions
Can I sprinkle the granules straight into the water?
No. The label directs you to mix it into water in a tank with agitation and apply the mix. Dry application is not on the label.
How often do I reapply?
The label says to reapply as necessary to maintain larval control, with no fixed interval. Water that refills or holds runoff will need repeat treatment.
How much does one bag treat?
The 8 oz bag is about 227 grams. At the label's mosquito rates, that covers roughly 1.1 acres of water surface at 7 oz per acre, up to about 4.6 acres at 1.75 oz per acre.
How should I store it?
Sealed, cool, and dry, between 59 and 86 F per the label. When you finish a bag, empty it completely into your mix, then recycle the bag if available or dispose of it in a sanitary landfill.
What if I get it on me?
The label lists it as harmful if inhaled or absorbed through the skin and a moderate eye irritant. If inhaled, move to fresh air. For eyes, rinse with water for 15 to 20 minutes. For skin, remove contaminated clothing and rinse for 15 to 20 minutes. Call a poison control center or doctor for treatment advice, and have the label with you.

Preventative Excellence, Infestation So/So
I've had an infestation of fungus gnats break out in the past and applying this stuff 3x a week, at the max strength (1tbsp/G) it really struggled to eradicate the gnats completely. It wasn't until I bought and used Nematodes SF where the population was completely gone. However, for brand new bags my routine is pretty simple. I apply 1tsbp per G of water (watering 5-10%) of the soils volume (pairing the WDG3000 with a Quijalla Extract to break up any hydrophobic spots) and letting that sit for 7 days. It took a little to figure out on doses, sometimes the lower application rate didn't completely resolve the gnats from repopulating. Increasing to 1tsbp helped prevent any future break outs. I'll dock a point for not being able to completely eradicate infestations by itself, but 5/5 for preventative maintenance. If you're going to open new bags, I'd recommend this stuff.
