At BuildASoil, we’re committed to providing the most affordable and reliable shipping possible—for both our customers and our business. 📦 Shipping Options

BuildASoil Shipping: Our complimentary shipping method for qualifying orders. We choose the most cost-effective carrier and shipping method. Delivery may take up to 10 business days. Most items qualify when you purchase two or more eligible products. Some qualify individually.
Standard Shipping: A paid option where we ship using standard ground services.
Standard Shipping: Rushed Out the Door! Includes everything in Standard Shipping, but adds on same day order processing (not guaranteed).
Get It Fast: Our expedited service. Orders are shipped with 2-3 day transit times and are prioritized for fulfillment, with most leaving the same business day (not guaranteed).
Overnight It: Ships via overnight service with immediate fulfillment for urgent deliveries.
FedEx Freight (Economy or Priority): For large or heavy orders. All freight ships via FedEx Freight unless arranged otherwise. Contact us in advance if no liftgate is required.
Pickup at Factory Store – Available Within 24 Hours! Select this option to pick up your order at our factory store. We'll notify you when it's ready. Bring your order confirmation and a valid ID.

🚚 Carriers Used

We ship with FedEx, UPS, and USPS. Carrier preference is not guaranteed unless explicitly communicated to us.

📮 PO Boxes

Orders shipped to PO Boxes often require additional costs and are not eligible for free shipping. Use a physical address to avoid delays and fees.

🏝️ Outside Continental US

We ship to Alaska, Hawaii, Puerto Rico, Guam, Northern Mariana Islands and the U.S. Virgin Islands. Free shipping generally does not apply to large or bulky items shipped to these locations. Hawaii and Alaska do have more flexibility with this due to carrier policies. Quotes will be calculated at checkout or by request.

🇨🇦 Canada Orders

We do ship to Canada for select items. Canadian customers must choose “UPS Standard® Shipping to Canada with no Surprises!” at checkout to ensure proper customs clearance and avoid unexpected brokerage fees or delays. Orders using other methods may be subject to delays or rejection at customs.

🏭 Vendor-Fulfilled Items

Some products are fulfilled by vendor partners and display estimated ship dates on their product pages. Questions about these items should be sent to support@buildasoil.com.

🚛 Freight Shipments

Freight deliveries involve pallets via box trucks or semis. Liftgate service is assumed unless specified otherwise.

Important: Inspect all freight shipments before signing. Count and examine all packages. Signing the delivery receipt confirms that the order arrived in full and undamaged.

🚛 Full Truckloads

Orders that qualify for full truckload (FTL) delivery will be custom quoted after checkout. Rates are based on location, order volume, and unloading requirements.

Indicate if you have a dock, forklift, or unloading equipment.
If you need liftgate or manual unload service, please notify us.

🔍 Order Tracking

Tracking information is emailed upon shipment. If not received, visit buildasoil.aftership.com and enter your order details. For help, contact support@buildasoil.com.

🛡️ Shipping Protection

This low-cost optional add-on at checkout insures your shipment against loss, theft, and damage. Claims are fast-tracked for resolution or replacement.

Even with protection, we encourage submitting photos, videos, and documentation to assist our carrier claims process.

All claims must be submitted via support@buildasoil.com. Phone-based claims are not accepted.

Claim Deadlines

Damage / Missing Items: Within 5 business days of delivery

Once an order leaves our facility, we are not liable for delays, damage, or misdelivery caused by the carrier. We assist with claims but final decisions rest with the carrier.

We have zero tolerance for mistreatment of delivery drivers. Verified misconduct may result in cancellation and refund of your order minus shipping costs.

Kashi Gold is our answer: an artful, small-batch bokashi designed specifically for gardening, not just composting. Sprinkled on the mulch layer, it teams up with your soil food web so plants can intelligently access nutrients through thriving mycelial networks.

The Story Behind Kashi Gold

Deep Roots, Refined Craft

Bokashi is ancient anaerobic fermentation. Years ago, through the Probiotic Farmers Alliance, we met Alan Adkisson, the first person we knew to design a complete bokashi for growing plants. This business was founded with his partner Eddy Lepp. His approach (what he called solid-state fermentation) delivered visible white, pillowy mycelial growth on mulch and faster breakdown in living beds.

Alan launched Gro-Kashi, which set the bar. Later, a past employee of BuildASoil named AJ built on that legacy with Kashi Blend at Growing Organic. When that chapter closed, we came full circle: Alan rejoined us. Together, we set out to make the best bokashi for gardens, treated like a premium culinary experience for your soil from start to finish.

What’s Inside (and Why It Matters)

Premium High Phos Rice Bran
EM-1 (Dr. Higa’s original) to drive consistent, proven fermentation.
Good Vibes Paramagnetic Basalt rock dust flour for coenzymes and trace mineral synergy along with paramagnetic energy.
Insect frass as an additional food source for the biology
Small percentage of Redmond sea salt to round out the fermentation ecology.
Organic cane sugar molasses (never the cheap stuff) to feed the process.

How It’s Crafted

Fermented, dried, and finished with care by Alan, whose process has been refined over years of hands-on work. He includes sun activation to encourage PNSB activity and preserve the living character you’ll notice the moment you open the bag an ancestral, sour-fermented aroma growers love. ☀️🧡

What You’ll Notice In Living Soil

Faster mulch breakdown and visible white mycelial growth.
Improved nutrient cycling right in the mulch layer.
Smoother plant access to minerals without juggling extra bottles.

Instructions for Use:

Top-dress: Sprinkle 2–4 tbsp per sq ft across the mulch layer every 1–3 weeks.
For new beds or heavy mulch: use handfuls tossed in to kickstart activity.
Water in lightly to activate fermentation on the surface.
Compost boost (optional): Mix ½–1 cup per cubic foot of compost.
Storage: Keep sealed, cool, and dry to preserve viability. Solid state fermentations can last for years.
NOTICE: Animals will be wildly attracted to your bag of Kashi Gold. Store somewhere safe or your pets and or mice will find it and eat it all.
