Shipping to Alaska, Hawaii and US Territories
Soil is heavy, and getting it across the ocean costs real money. We help pay for it on every qualifying order, from Anchorage to Honolulu to Guam. Here is how it works, and how to get the most growing out of every shipping dollar.
Where this applies
Everything on this page works the same for every place on this list.
How it works
Order 2 or more BuildASoil items
Same rule as our free shipping everywhere else. Two items in the program qualify your order. Two of the same item counts.
We cover part of your shipping
We cover part of your shipping, and bigger orders often ship free.
See your real price at checkout
Enter your address and every paid shipping option shows the dollar amount BuildASoil is paying toward your shipping, already taken off the price. Orders ship within 2 business days.
No surprises. Checkout always shows your exact shipping price before you pay.
Your shipping choices
BuildASoil Shipping
Our lowest cost option, free on qualifying orders. Checkout shows the delivery estimate for your address.
USPS Priority Mail
A few dollars more, and usually arrives in 1 to 3 business days after it ships. Our share still comes off the price.
Get It Fast and Overnight It
The fastest options, shown when available for your address. Our share comes off these too.
Order what you need
You do not need to plan your order around box sizes. Checkout compares USPS, FedEx, and UPS, including flat rate boxes, and finds the lowest price to ship your whole order. Then it takes our share off.
Mix whatever you need: 1 cubic foot bags of soil, small bags, liquids, and gear. If an order has items that are not in the free shipping program, it still works. You see the exact price before you pay, and you choose the shipping option that fits.
What usually ships free
Shipping is free when the cost to ship your order is small compared to what is in it. Here is how that usually works out.
Often free
Dry amendments, liquids, microbes, and gear. They pack a lot of value into a small box, so these orders often ship free.
Sometimes free
8 quart soil bags mixed with amendments, liquids, or gear. Soil bags on their own usually pay part of the shipping.
Pays part of the shipping
1 cubic foot bags and other large, heavy items. We still cover part of the shipping, and checkout shows the credit on every paid option.
Popular with growers outside the lower 48
Any two items in the free shipping program qualify your order.
Craft Blend
Recharge soil you already have. A little goes a long way, so it ships light.
Shop Craft Blend
Not available outside the lower 48: pallets, truckloads, bulk totes, and any single item over 150 lb.
