Create your account and 100 points are yours before you buy a thing. Then every dollar earns 2 points, and Platinum and OG members earn 3. If you have ordered from us before, your tier is already earned: just log in.
Loyalty program rules
- Points never expire. Not after a year, not ever.
- Every order earns. Full points on every dollar you pay, including sale prices, bulk orders, and orders that used a discount code.
- Tiers come from lifetime spend and are permanent. Once an OG, always an OG.
- Points spend like cash on the Loyalty Collection. Every 400 points is $10 off. No caps, no minimums.
- One deal per order. Reward coupons do not stack with sales, bundles, or other codes. Pick whichever wins. Points earn either way.
- Coupons pause during sitewide sales. The sale price is the deal. Earning never pauses, and the rewards shop stays open.
- Only products in the Loyalty Collection are for use with points spending. All products earn points.
- Tier gifts unlock when you cross into a tier. Your tier itself is permanent.
- One free soil test per year in any tier that includes it, Gold and above. You are only ever in one tier, your highest.
- Points from an order land 7 days after you place it. The wait covers cancellations and returns. Once they land, they are yours forever and spend on any future order.
- Reward codes only work on the account that earned them.
The live numbers live in the widget. Earning values, tier thresholds, and the full rewards menu are always current in the green rewards button and the Loyalty Hub. If this page and the widget ever disagree, the widget is right, and tell us so we can fix this page.
Common questions
Why is soil not in the Loyalty Collection?
Soil has its own deal. Buy 4 or more bags and the price drops automatically, every dollar you spend on soil earns full points, and when you want to spend points on soil, the Free Bag of Soil reward in the menu is exactly that. What soil does not take is dollar coupons on top, because it is the heaviest, lowest-margin thing we make, and stacking a coupon on the 4+ discount would mean quietly making the rest of the program worse to pay for it. We would rather give you the whole picture: soil earns, soil has its own discount, and the coupons live on everything else.
I just placed an order. Where are my points?
On the way. Points from an order land 7 days after you place it, which gives cancellations and returns time to settle before points are issued. Once they land they never expire, and they are ready to spend on your next order. The green rewards button always shows your current balance.
Can I spend the points from this order on this order?
No. Points work like cash back: they land in your account 7 days after you place the order, and they spend on your next order or any order after that. Since they never expire, there is no rush to use them, and every order keeps adding to the stack.
Can I use my points during a sale?
Product rewards, yes. Dollar coupons, no. The sale price is the deal during a sale, and your points never expire, so they hold their full value until the moment you want them. You also earn full points on everything you buy during a sale, which most programs do not do.
I had points in the old program. What happened to them?
They are still yours. We doubled every balance when we rebuilt the program, because a point is now worth 2.5 cents instead of 5. Your points kept their exact dollar value, and now they never expire. Log in and check.
My points expired under the old program. Can I get them back?
Points do not expire anymore. If you think your old balance is missing something, email support@buildasoil.com with your account email and we will look into it.
Why did I not get the tier gifts for the tiers I passed?
Tier gifts unlock at the moment you cross into a new tier, from launch day forward. When we opened the new program we placed ten years of customers directly into their tiers, and awarding a decade of gifts retroactively was not possible if we wanted to build the program at all. Your tier, your perks, and your earning rate are all live from day one, and the next line you cross triggers its gift automatically.
Why did you change from 1 point per dollar to 2?
The new tiers earn more as you climb, and building that in meant changing the base. A point is now worth 2.5 cents, so 2 points per dollar is the same 5% back as before, and Platinum and OG members earn 3.
How do I know what tier I am in?
Tap the green rewards button on any page, or open the Loyalty Hub in your account. Your tier, your points, and how far you are from the next tier are all there, live. If you have been ordering from us for years, your history already counts.
Do I need to do anything to join?
Create an account. That is it. If you already have one, you are already in.
