Premium Worm Castings
Colorado Worm Company provides ultra-quality, tea-grade, vermi-dynamic compost containing very generous amounts of exchangeable cations. COWOCO vermi-compost is also high in naturally occurring trace elements and minerals. Our small-batch compost boasts a 10:1 carbon to nitrogen ratio along with a plethora of life which MIGHTÂ include: Red Wigglers(Eisenia fetida), Red Wiggler Cocoons, Predator Mites (Hypoaspis miles), Rove Beetles, and small amounts of Springtails. Worm crafted on our small family horse farm in Western Colorado, COWOCO strives to produce only the most organic, highest quality, most available soil amendment on the market. Our privileged worms are fed a highly mineralized diet of Rootwise inoculated, bio-dynamic, fully finished compost along with native soils, native snowmelt river water, and local glacial rock dust. From our family to yours, cheers to happy, healthy, super productive gardening. We'll help make your green thumb.....greener!
These castings are dense and heavy compared to the competition that sells by weight. 1 Cubic foot is equal to 40lbs depending on moisture content.Â
Application methods and rates:
Top-dress your flowerpots or raised beds with a generous two inch layer every two weeks to one month during both veg and flower.
For an extra phosphorus boost late in the season, simply aerate water and add our castings at a rate of 1:10 castings to water. Agitate and brew for no more than 24 hours. Add directly to the root zone for immediate results.
Our operation has a very small carbon foot print, our worms clean up all the waste on the farm creating a closed loop system. Our modest 35 horse power tractor is the only fossil fuel used in production. Our worms are treated with love and in return they bless us with incredible quality compost.

Rice Hulls - Par Boiled
from $19.80
Rated 5.0 out of 5
180 Ratings
Based on 180 ratings
Par Boiled Rice Hulls by the bale or truckload. PBH Brand Approved for Organic Use
Studies have proven that rice hulls can efficiently replace perlite in your potting soil mixes and is much better for the environment.
We have independently heavy metal tested the contents and will only work with PBH for our rice hulls because of how clean they have tested. Beware of cheap rice hulls potentially full of heavy metals.Â
Parboiled rice hulls are produced by steaming and drying rice hulls after the milling process. This results in a lightweight and consistent product that is free of viable weed and/or rice seed
Useful Info

Use This Pumice As Direct Replacement For Perlite
Last Longer Than Perlite & Has More Minerals!
This is the BuildASoil Way! Pumice makes soil that lasts forever and is more sustainable than throwing your potting soil away after each use. 3/8" x 1/4" Pumice is perfect for potting soil.Â
Optimizes drainage
Retains and evenly distributes moisture and nutrients
Promotes strong root growth
Improves root aeration
Low Heavy Metals
Does not contain clay or organic material (i.e. montmorillonite, illite, kaolinite)
Minimizes root diseases
Clean from disease or weed seeds and environmentally friendly
Pumice is created when super-heated, highly pressurized rock is violently ejected from a volcano. The unusual foamy configuration of pumice happens because of simultaneous rapid cooling and rapid depressurization.Â
Pumice is a natural, lightweight, volcanic material widely used in horticulture and hydroponics. The porosity of Pumice provides an abundance of air space maintaining aerobic conditions around the roots. The inert nature allows fertilization to be controlled in a very exact manner.
The porous nature and natural surface tension around the outside of the Pumice particles allow it to hold water yet retain sufficient air space to optimize drainage and promote strong root growth.
Its insulating properties increase the temperature of the plant food favoring plant nutrition and growth. Because of its chemical and physical properties, Pumice promotes excellent nutrition distribution, strong root development and excellent plant growth.
The absorbency of Pumice allows it to retain moisture and nutrients. The gradual release of the moisture and nutrients enables a considerable reduction in irrigation time. Because BuildASoil Pumice is mined, it is clean and free of disease spores and weed seeds, which is an advantage over river pumice.Â
How To Use
Use for potting soil at 15-40% by Volume
