SCROG stands for Screen of Green. The Screen of Green technique of growing is used for its efficiency, even canopy for equal light penetration, and ability to use less plants.

SCROG Screens can be hung over plants so that the tips of the branches are kept at the same level. This allows even light distribution to all of the nodes/bud sites. Once the flowering stage begins, the flower tips reach through the wire and are at relatively equal distances from the light source. This increases the budding sites and allows for more production from the plants than would be typically seen under normal growing conditions.

Sure its not fun to drop $50. Once it arrives (superbly packaged) you will be really glad you made the purchase after you handle it. Easy to clean after each run, good individual square sizing, and protective plastic skin avoids screen cutting any well-stretched branches.
